João Rubinato aka Adoniran Barbosa was a multi-talented young man in the 40s & 50s... he was a radio actor, a comedian, wrote songs and built little toys in his spare time...
Adoniran at an earlier date...
Adoniran waits for a train at Jaçanã railway station in 1965, the year his song 'Trem das onze' went to #1 in Rio de Janeiro during that year's Carnaval festivities...
Adoniran Barbosa wrote 'Trem das Onze', his most successful song, about the times he lived in Santo André-SP not in Jaçanã as it says in the song lyrics. He needed a proper name to rhyme with 'manhã', so off it went Santo André and in came Jaçanã. 'Diário do Grande ABC' of Santo André tells the whole story in its edition of Monday, 8 April 2024.
