M I L T I N H O 1928 - 2014

Miltinho had been in show business for more than 10 years when he suddenly became 'hot'. Up until late 1959, Miltinho had been signed by Sideral, a small recording label in Rio de Janeiro. Out of the blue he was signed by Sao Paulo's independent label RGE. But before RGE could release any Miltinho record, RCA Victor realeased a whole album with material he had previously recorded at Sideral. Sideral thought it was short shrifted and went to courts to get what it was its due.

10 July 1960 - 'Correio da Manhã' - 'Ri' (Luiz Antonio) b/w 'Mulher de trinta' (Luiz Antonio) sung by Miltinho - 78 rpm released by Sideral;  4 December 1960 - 'Correio da Manhã' - gossip-journalist Maria Helena tells all about Miltinho getting his knickers in a knot with labels Sideral, RCA Victor and RGE at her column 'Bisbilhotando'.
18 January 1961 - 'Correio da Manhã': an advertisement paid by label Sideral warning RCA Victor it will have to pay dearly for their release of a Miltinho album while the singer was still under contractual obligation to Sideral.
19 March 1960 - 'Correio da Manhã' - Claribalte Passos writes a review about Miltinho's new album for RCA Victor and tries to shed light into the imbroglio created by RCA who released an album by Miltinho while he was starting a new career at RGE, a São Paulo independent record label.

Miltinho in 1961 when he was king at RGE... actually this is not an album cover but an extended-play's.
1962's 'Poema do olhar'

this is undoubtedly Miltinho's best album ever... Jair Amorim & Evaldo Gouveia's 'Poema do olhar' (quem me chamar vai encontrar nos teus olhinhos... eu teu olhar, estranho olhar, meu sonho um dia se acabou...); Haroldo Barbosa & Luiz Reiz's 'Meu nome é ninguém' (Foi assim, a lâmpada apagou, a vista escureceu e um beijo então se deu, e veio a ânsia louca incontida do amor...); Raul Sampaio & Benil Santos's 'Confidência' (Eu quis deixar de te querer pois teu amor é meu castigo... volte aos meus braços por que a dor dessa saudade me alucina, eu quero a paz do teu amor, evite, por favor, minha ruina.) plus Haroldo Barbosa & Luiz Reiz's 'Canção da manhã feliz' ... it's like a 'Greatest Hits' album...
