Miltinho had the best year of his career in 1961... he still sold a lot of records in early 1962. Columbia releases 'Dance the Bop' an album Ray Conniff recorded in 1957 as 'S Twist to cash in on the twist craze. Such a blatant rip-off for the twist did not exist in 1957. Columbia management thought Brazilians were stupid which they were actually right for no one objected to such a dishonest practice.

DJ Ricardo Macedo left Radio Excelsior and was signed by Radio Bandeirantes where he would compere a 2-hour show every Sunday morning from 10 to 12 noon presenting the 25 best selling singles in the former week. On Sunday night Ricardo Macedo presented 'The 25 best selling singles a year ago'.

The books research has not been made in March due to the start of the school year when book-shops worked full time over the demands of school books. The list would be resumed in April.
